SMC: 8 arrested, dozens of arms and munitions seized in Basra

Security Media Cell announced the arrest of 8 wanted men and the confiscation of weapons and ammunition in Basra province.
SMC stated in a statement received by Iraqi News Agency (INA), that the 36th Mechanized Brigade at Basra Operations Command, through inspection and pursuit operations, managed to arrest 8 wanted persons for the judiciary pursuant to several criminal charges, within the northern sector of Basra province.
The Commandos Brigade and a force from Basra Operations Command confiscated light and medium weapons and various types of ammunition, the statement added.
In a related issue, SMC indicated that according to intelligence information, a large vehicle, loaded with smuggled motorcycles that did not carry official papers, was seized.
