The Parliamentary Education Committee announced today, Thursday, t that Iraq needs new schools, while noting that the student grant was approved in 2014 and has not yet been applied.
And the head of the committee, Qusay Al-Yasiri, said in a statement to the neutral program that is shown on Al-Iraqiya News, and the Iraqi News Agency (INA) followed it, that "Iraq needs 10-12 thousand new schools," noting that "contractors and companies received 60% of the school construction funds in the year 2011, while the achievement did not exceed 10%.
He added, "The Education Committee played its role and handed over the files in which there were suspicions of corruption, and it is not responsible for not holding officials accountable," explaining that "the House of Representatives approved the Student Grant Law since 2014 and it has not been implemented so far."
