The Ministry of Health and Environment confirmed today, Thursday, the continuation of its teams' work in following up on mobile phone towers scattered in different places in all governorates, while setting a condition that prevents their impact on human health.
The Undersecretary for Environmental Affairs, Jassem Al-Falahi, said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Our teams are continuing to follow up on mobile phone towers, and we have specialized devices to measure the level of emissions," stressing that "our teams are following up on the installation of towers, according to the set parameters."
He added, "The towers, whether they are erected above houses or on the ground, if they are placed in accordance with the limits and environmental requirements, and within the broadcast limiter, there is absolutely no harm in them."
He pointed out that "the limitations of broadcasting are set according to international standards approved by the World Communications Organization and the World Health Organization," noting "if the mobile phone companies are committed to the limitations set by the Ministry of Health and Environment, there is absolutely no harm to the citizen, because they are within the natural and safe limits for ionizing radiation." .
