Cabinet Spokesman, Minister of Culture Hassan Nadhim confirmed on Thursday that the tripartite summit between Iraq, Jordan and Egypt is still going on, and no date has been appointed yet.
Nadhim told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that despite the date of the tripartite summit has not been set, but this does not mean that business has stopped between the three countries (Iraq, Jordan and Egypt), pointing out that the previous summit held in Amman has paved the paths for economic and cultural work.
There are ongoing works on the ground in the border area between Iraq and Jordan, and there are also important negotiations on the issue of electrical interconnection between the three countries, he added.
In a related issue, the Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee confirmed, on the fifth of April 2021, the need to make investments in Iraq by the countries in the region, noting that the tripartite summit scheduled to be held in Baghdad was postponed and not canceled.
