The Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Hamid Naim Al-Ghazi, signed today, Thursday, a memorandum of understanding with the representative of the United Nations Development Program, Zina Ali Ahmed, to empower women in Iraq.
The memorandum of understanding, according to a statement issued by the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, included working to strengthen the partnership and institutional capacity of the concerned authorities to promote gender equality and focus on the specific needs of women in Iraq.
He added that the memorandum also included support for comprehensive and gender-responsive policies, as well as providing a number of activities, programmers, consultations and experiences to empower women in various issues.
