Salih and Tueller discuss joint cooperation in combating corruption and terrorist

    The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, discussed, today, Tuesday, with the US Ambassador to Iraq Matthew Tueller, cooperation in issues of combating corruption and financing terrorism, as well as protecting the environment and confronting climate change.

    The Media Office of the Presidency of the Republic stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Salih received Tueller, today at the Peace Palace in Baghdad, and the meeting discussed the close bilateral relations, the various aspects of joint coordination between the two countries, and ways to develop prospects for cooperation in the context of the strategic dialogue." and the technical committees emanating from it, leading to a strategic partnership in various fields that serves mutual interests, respects Iraqi sovereignty, and brings peace and benefit to the two peoples and the whole region, in addition to strengthening joint action in confronting the challenges of terrorism, cooperating in issues of combating corruption and financing terrorism, as well as protecting the environment and confronting change.". 

    He added, "The meeting dealt with the latest developments on the regional and international arenas of common interest, as it was stressed the need to ease tensions and rely on dialogue in resolving outstanding issues in order to establish peace in the region."
