The Military Intelligence Agency announced Today, Tuesday, the arrest of five infiltrators from Syria.
A statement by the Security Media Cell, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that according to accurate intelligence information a group of five people, including a woman, who hold Syrian citizenship coming from Syria towards Iraqi territory, were arrested.
The statement also mentioned that a quick coordination was made with the Intelligence Department of West Nineveh Operations Command, the Military Intelligence Division in the 15th Division and a force from the 2nd Regiment, 71st Infantry Brigade, to set up a tight ambush for the infiltrators, after the military forces continued to monitor them with thermal cameras, and managed to arrest them near the village of Shaalan, west of Nineveh, pointing out that they were handed over to the concerned authorities to take the legal measures against them .
