Al-Kaabi stresses the need to hold early elections on time with international support

    The First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hassan Al-Kaabi, stressed today, Monday,  the need to hold early elections on time, with international and international support.

    The media office of the First Deputy stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Al-Kaabi received in his office today, the Dutch ambassador to Iraq, Michel Rintenar, and his accompanying delegation."

    Al-Kaabi said, during the meeting, that "bureaucracy and lack of security and stability have always been the biggest obstacle to the entry of sober international investment companies, especially Dutch ones, to Iraq."

    He stressed, "the need for stability and political awareness of the need to continue to activate the frameworks to combat corruption, activate the investment portal and end all the problems that plague the economy."

    A member of the Presidency of the Parliament pointed out to "the importance of holding the early elections on their scheduled date, on the tenth of this October, with the support of the United Nations and the European Union countries."

    Al-Kaabi called for "improving the investment climate by overcoming difficulties, removing complex procedures, providing security and stability, and granting all facilities to investors, especially the Dutch." The second largest exporter of agricultural products in the world.

    In turn, the Dutch ambassador expressed "Amsterdam's keenness to find broader opportunities to strengthen economic and trade relations with Iraq, and to contribute to accelerating the implementation of investment projects and building the security capabilities that the friendly country needs."

    He pointed out, "the importance of supporting the work of humanitarian organizations on the issue of migration and displaced persons, and supporting legislation that establishes human rights."
