Al-Kaabi: The presence of the UN and EU is very important during the elections

    The First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hassan Karim Al-Kaabi, stressed today, Wednesday, the importance of the presence of the United Nations mission, the International Federation team and all international organizations, and their participation in monitoring the elections. 

    The media office of the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Al-Kaabi received in his office today, the German ambassador in Baghdad, Ole Diel, and the political advisor at the embassy, Beata Hobe, and during the meeting, several files related to holding the elections on their scheduled date and the mechanisms that were discussed were discussed. It will follow the choice of government and the importance of monitoring by the UN mission, representatives of the European Union and international organizations during the elections."
    Al-Kaabi praised, according to the statement, "the activities carried out by the German embassy team in Baghdad, which was very distinguished in all political, economic, humanitarian, cultural and global directions, as well as all embassies that worked in Iraq under very difficult circumstances, and were able to play their political and humanitarian role." To the fullest, and that the Iraqi people, the government and the legislative authority appreciate these noble positions."

    And on the participation of international bodies with the Iraqi side regarding election monitoring, he said, “We always stress the importance of the presence of the United Nations mission, the International Federation team and all international organizations in Iraq, and our participation in monitoring the elections, because of their importance in motivating citizens to participate and the transparency of voting and strengthening voter confidence in the electoral process and the results achieved.
