PM's adviser reveals government steps to secure the elections

    Advisor to the Prime Minister for Electoral Security Affairs, Muhannad Naeim, revealed today, Thursday, the government's measures in preparation for the upcoming elections, while indicating the formation of committees from various military joints to oversee the security of the electoral process.

    Naeim said, in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The law obligated the Election Commission to contract with a company that examines the electronic stages of the electoral process," indicating that "the government has submitted a proposal to the commission that the contract with the company be extended and there will be cyber protection, that is, protection for systems and networks." and programs from digital attacks to 
    ensure the protection of intelligence results and via satellites. "

    He explained, "One of the government priorities is to prevent parties from arming and practicing any military behavior in elections, and to submit to what is stated in the Parties Law No. 36 of 2015 and its paragraphs, and otherwise, those parties are punished and the licenses are withdrawn from them."

    He pointed out, "the formation of a high-level committee headed by the deputy of joint operations, and the involvement of members of the Police Affairs Agency, the Intelligence Agency and the Counter-Terrorism Service in preparing for the elections," noting that "it is the first time that the military services participate in the preparation, in addition to the involvement of the judiciary for the first time in membership this committee. "
