Chairman of the Parliamentary Youth and Sports Committee, Abbas Aliwi, affirmed that the House of Representatives is keen to prepare all the means needed by the local government in Basra Governorate, as well as the Ministry of Youth and Sports, to host the 25th edition of the Arabian Gulf Cup in Iraq.
In a special statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA) today, Thursday, Aliwi said, "The visit of the technical committee sent by the Gulf Federation and their meeting with the Minister of Youth and Sports and the Governor of Basra and the reports that were raised promise that the Gulf Arab 25 will be in Basra," indicating that "there is great government interest." From the prime minister, through continuous contacts with the governor of Basra, to prepare logistical and other matters.
Aliwi explained that "Basra has received many Asian matches, but there are some things that the championship requires, including hotels, roads and another stadium, which is the port, which will soon be ready, according to the Ministry of Youth."
