First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Hassan Karim Al-Kaabi confirmed that the statements of the MP Dhafer Al-Ani in the Arab Parliament are considered as electoral propaganda, and that the Human Rights Commission has officially announced that there is no absentee inside Iraq.

Al-Kaabi expressed his “regret over the many inaccuracies reported in Al-Ani's speech during the convening of one of the Arab Parliament sessions,” included a statement by Al-Kaabi, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

"In Iraq, there is an independent High Commission for Human Rights, which is the only authorized commission in cases of kidnapping and disappearance, and that this commission confirmed in its official letter sent to the Parliament that there is no fixed case of enforced disappearance in Iraq, meaning that there is no presence of any disappearance inside the country, and all the allegations mentioned have not been proven up till now with any evidence,” indicating that "the commission works inside Iraq in coordination with all state institutions, and considers all allegations in accordance with the laws in force and the Iraqi democratic system based on elections,"

He affirmed that "the High Commission has dealt with  many of the previous allegations, and it was found to be false and nothing has been proven, on the contrary, as it turned out that part of those whose relatives claimed to be kidnapped are fleeing outside Iraq and have been convicted by judicial rulings or who have practiced terrorism so far, and they are on the agenda of Daesh terrorist gangs, and are fighting against  the security forces that protect the Iraqi citizen from north to south,"

"MP Al-Ani must not utter what does not represent the parliament and the Iraqi state, and not release statements according to his personal whims and inclinations, which represent abhorrent and cheap electoral propaganda with cheapness and meanness of hateful sectarian slogans and allegations that sectarian promoters and merchants are used to trade in, as well as most of what he spoke of it is a blatant, clear lie, and categorical evidence,”

Al-Kaabi explained that "Iraqis suffered from Jurf al-Sakhar region during many years as it was an incubator for terrorists and a safe haven for al-Qaeda gangs, and then Daesh gangs. Hence, thousands of Iraqis were martyred by sectarian identity, and the corpses were scattered in all agricultural land cottages there and throughout 2003 to 2014, all of this is officially documented by the Iraqi government," pointing out that “this region was the starting point after the defeat of Daesh for attempts to bring down the regions of southern, eastern and western Baghdad, but the security forces liberated the area and the return of all those who did not prove their affiliation with Daesh,"

“This city and other liberated areas do not have any militias outside the state, according to what Al-Ani said, but rather land-holding forces belonging to the official security forces and under the command of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and that the accusations around official government regular forces had and still has a great role in defending Iraq and the dignity of its people, describing it as a criminal, is false, malicious and unpatriotic talk, as it contributes to creating sectarian strife among the people, dismantling national unity, perverting the constitutional oath, and explicitly violating the terms of membership of the Parliament, calling on the members of Parliament to vote to dismiss the deputy Dhafir Al-Ani in the first session according to the Replacement Law No. 6 of 2006 for his explicit violation of the membership conditions, failure to respect the constitutional oath, provoking sectarian strife and not representing Iraq,”
