Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein discussed with his Saudi counterpart Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud the mechanism for strengthening relations between the two countries, and ways to activate cooperation in various fields.
FM Hussein made a phone call with Prince Faisal Al Saud, and the two sides discussed a mechanism for strengthening relations between the two brotherly countries, and ways to activate cooperation in various fields, including political, economic and security fields, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
The two parties exchanged views, evaluated the overall updates of regional issues for common interests, confronted the various challenges facing the region, and pushed for peaceful solutions that would achieve security, stability and cooperation in order to achieve the aspirations of peace and development.
FM Hussein stressed the need to respect the sovereignty of Iraq and support efforts to stabilize the region, reiterating Baghdad's commitment to protecting diplomatic missions and the sanctity of diplomats.
