Trade Minister Mohammed Hashem Al-Ani confirmed today, Wednesday, support for the national food security project in Iraq.
"The food security project aims to reach self-sufficiency and support the agricultural and industrial sectors," Al-Ani said in an interview with the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
He added that this project will contribute to the stability of the country, stressing the achievement of self-sufficiency in wheat, which helped stop import operations and hard currency exit from the country.
The Minister of Planning, Nuri al-Dulaimi, had announced earlier, a strategy to achieve food security from agricultural crops and animal products in Iraq.
