A corruption cases related to senior officials

The Central Anti-Corruption Criminal Court has currently heard cases of three current members of parliament, three governors, two presidents of governorate councils, five general managers, a provincial council member, and a deputy governor.

The head of the Central Anti-Corruption Criminal Court, Judge Khaled Saddam, said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The court is now examining a number of the most important cases of corruption and bribery, including cases involving three current members of the House of Representatives, three governors, two heads of governorate councils, and five general managers. And a member of a provincial council and a deputy governor, in addition to the (Mitsubishi) case of the Ministry of Interior, where we consider the cases of a number of officers and the ranks involved.

He added that "the Integrity Commission and all investigative bodies were directed at the speedy achievement so that they can resolve the major corruption cases as quickly as possible," denying "what was raised about the release of the president of the Martyrs Foundation accused of corruption cases."
