A detailed vision before Allawi to fight corruption

    The Integrity Committee in the House of Representatives intends to provide a detailed vision to Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi in order to combat corruption.

    Member of the Parliamentary Integrity Committee, Youssef Al-Kalabi, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), on Monday, the vision that is expected to be presented to the Prime Minister-designate includes an extensive detail and needs real tools to combat corruption.

    He added that "the Integrity Committee proposed to the resigned Prime Minister Adel Abdel Mahdi since the start of the demonstrations, the formation of a supreme committee to combat corruption.

    “adding that "the committee consists of supervisory agencies in addition to the intelligence security services and the Integrity Commission."

    He pointed out that "the Supreme Council for Combating Corruption had no impact on the ground."

    As a member of the Integrity Committee, Kazem Al-Sayyadi, indicated in an interview with the Iraqi News Agency (INA) today, Sunday, that the Supreme Council for Combating Corruption could not fight corruption, and abolishing it is the best.

    For its part, the Supreme Council for Combating Corruption confirmed the existence of coordination with all the oversight bodies as well as with the executive bodies such as the Integrity Authority and the Ministries of Interior and Foreign Affairs and the Intelligence Service, stressing the formation of a special court to combat corruption in order to accelerate the implementation of the procedures that come from the supervisory authorities, whether by the Integrity Authority or from Financial Supervision Bureau or others.
