INA – BAGHDAD
International Civil Aviation Organization – ICAO started the first phase procedures of Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme – USOAP in Iraq.
“The program includes seven basic elements in safety procedures which are Civil Aviation Law, Organizational Structure, Aviation Operations, Licenses and Allowances, Airports, Airworthiness and Air Navigation,” said the General Director of the Civil Aviation Authority, Ali Khalil Ibrahim to Iraqi News Agency INA.
He added that a specialized team from the ICAO is currently studying the documents for the aforementioned elements and in coordination with CCA Safety Department.
"It is hoped that the audit procedures will end in the current February, which will be followed by preparing an action plan according to the results of this audit," added Ibrahim.
