Iraq confirmed standing with the Palestinians in establishing their independent state.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesman Ahmed Al-Sahaf, said: "Iraq affirms its standing with its Palestinian brothers in defending their legitimate rights," noting that "Iraq stands by the Palestinian brothers to have their legitimate rights guaranteed by international law, Security Council resolutions, their right to return to their usurped lands,"
He added that Iraq stresses that Al-Quds Al-Sharif and Al-Aqsa Mosque are still under occupation, and that Arabs and Muslims should stand side by side with their Palestinian brothers to support their legitimate rights in an independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital, and restore all occupied lands to Syria and Lebanon.
