PM Abdul Mahdi asserts Iraq’s keenness on international ties continuation

Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi asserted the importance of the international relations that will continue, and that it is based on mutual interests.

PM Abdul Mahdi met the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Jenin Henness Blashardt on Monday, according to a statement by office of the Prime Minister received by Iraqi News Agency – INA.

Blashart expressed her condolences and the Secretary-General of the United Nations for Iraq and the support for its security and stability.

The Prime Minister clarified the position of the Iraqi government after the recent security developments and his message to the House Parliament in addition to Council's decision to withdraw foreign forces from Iraq.

He stressed Iraq’s keenness to continue its relations with the international community and to be based on the exchange of mutual interests and respect for its sovereignty and non-interference in interior affairs.
