PUK calls the political blocs to understand Salih stance

Patriotic Union of Kurdistan – PUK bloc called on the political blocs to understand the position of the President of the Republic Barham Salih and to pursue a policy of cooperation in order to reach a sound decision in choosing a candidate for the Prime Minister that receives public and political approval.

"The interactions and contradictions between the political blocs in determining the largest bloc and its multiple interpretations and lack of agreement on a candidate that the rising street and political forces are satisfied with on the one hand, and the chaos and constant pressures from various sources on the other hand led the political scene to be more and more confused, which further complicated the situation for the President of the Republic in choosing a candidate to win the confidence of everyone in the prime minister’s duties, which was not achieved during the times stipulated by the Iraqi constitution,” A statement issued by the bloc received by Iraqi News Agency – INA.

"This led the President of the Republic to send a message to the Speaker of the Parliament in which he expressed his readiness to resign from his position before the members of the House of Representatives, confirming that the political and parliamentary movement must be expressive of the popular will and the requirements of security and social peace," the statement included.

In this statement, the bloc called on all political blocs to "understand the position of the President of the Republic and pursue a policy of cooperation instead of a policy of pressure in order to reach a sound decision in choosing a figure that fits the stage and receives public and political acceptance", asking the political forces "to understand the seriousness of the situation and rely on logic And the wisdom in containing the situation, giving priority to the supreme national interest, and raising the level of aspirations of the people's demands, constitutional legitimacy, and returning stability to our dear country and its sacrificed people. "

Earlier, President Salih apologized for assigning the candidate of the building bloc Asaad Al-Eidani, and he stated in a letter to the Speaker of Parliament that he was ready to put his resignation before the House of Representatives.
