The Security Media Cell announced, on Friday, that F-16 aircraft carried out airstrikes on a hideout for ISIS terrorist gangs in Hamrin Mountains.
A statement by the cell received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated that "under the direction of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, and in an operation added to the qualitative operations of our security forces, the heroes in the Military Intelligence Directorate, after technical follow-up and monitoring, and under the supervision and planning of the Targeting Cell in the Joint Operations Command, monitored a hideout for terrorists with ISIS gang members inside in Hamrin Mountains within Diyala Operations Command sector, and as a result of this accurate information, the brave Air Falcons carried out precise strikes using F-16 aircraft."
It added that "the strikes led to the destruction of the hideout and the killing of ISIS members inside it," stressing "continuing to destroy the terrorists' hideouts and track down their defeated elements with high spirits and sincere will."
