Al-Ghabban: The largest bloc is authorized by al-Halboosi

    Head of the Al-Fatih Alliance bloc, Muhammad Al-Ghabban, confirmed that the Federal Court clearly responded to the President’s decree regarding giving an accurate interpretation of the expression of the most numerous bloc mentioned in Article 76 of the Constitution.

     "The Federal Court responded clearly that the largest number bloc means either the bloc that was formed after the elections through one electoral list, or the bloc that was formed after the elections from two or more electoral lists. It entered the Parliament after its members sworn during the first session, the largest number of the rest of the blocs,” said Al-Ghabban in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency – INA.

    Al-Ghabban continued, "The mission of the Federal Court is to interpret the texts, not to give the authorizations and name the most numerous bloc. Regarding the description and interpretation of the Federal Court, the building coalition is the most numerous bloc, according to the list signed by 154 MPs and was handed over to the Speaker of Parliament during the first parliamentary session,”

    He also noted that the facts of the session are documented by sound and image, during which the building alliance bloc; by the alliance leaders signatures including Speaker of Parliament Muhammad Al-Halbousi.

    "The president of the republic must adhere to the constitution by assigning the largest bloc candidate, otherwise the president of the republic is considered to have violated the constitution,” said al-Ghabban.
