Member of the Presidency of the Council of Representatives Hassan Karim al-Kaabi, a meeting of the Committee on Constitutional Amendments, in the presence of professors of constitutional law from various Iraqi universities, and experts from the United Nations Mission UNAMI.
His office said in a statement received that the meeting discussed the most important items of the proposed constitution and the most important texts put forward by university professors, explaining that Kaabi called for writing all proposals in writing to be studied and the possibility of including them in the amendments to be voted on by the House of Representatives during the coming period.
Al-Kaabi, according to his office statement, called on the Committee of Amendments to intensify its meetings permanently and host all relevant parties and experts to expedite the implementation of substantive amendments to the Constitution and in line with the current situation and meets the demands of the demonstrators in accordance with the sobriety and accurate legal wording and guarantee the rights of all segments of society.
