President Salih: Elections Law Project is essential for political and economic reform

INA – BAGHDAD

President Barham Salih asserted on Monday, that the project of Elections Law is essential for political and economic reforms in the country.

This came during a meeting he held to discuss the project of the elections law that where he explained that there must a specific (short) time to finish the project for it is a demand by the people.

“It is necessary to coordinate with the UN in the technical field to make a good use of the expertise it has to stop any manipulation or faking in the process of elections,” added Salih “The country will be fine of we make a law that represents the people of this country,”

He asserted that the project must be fair to all the components and give it the legal rights and that the formation of the independent commission for elections must not be politicized.
