Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Qusai al-Suhail said that he is seeking to overcome all difficulties facing Iraqi students studying in Russia, announcing his intention to increase the number of grants and fellowships granted by Russian universities to Iraq. During his visit to Moscow, Suhail met with a number of Iraqi students studying in Russia and their representatives, in the presence of the Iraqi ambassador and the cultural attaché at the embassy, a ministry statement said.
He added that he will seek to overcome all the difficulties facing Iraqi students studying in Russia, and will push towards increasing the number of scholarships and fellowships granted by Russian universities to Iraq, noting the need for Iraqi scholars in Russian universities, reflect a bright image of Iraq in the Russian academia, As well as the need to achieve scientific excellence, and the selection of specializations that take into account the needs of the country, and in line with the requirements of the Iraqi labor market, in order to achieve national and economic development in the country, thanks to the efforts of scientific and academic minds that will assume those tasks after returning to the country in the future.
