Al-Halbousi to Shamkhani: We won’t be part of any assault on the neighbouring countries

Speaker of Parliament Muhammed al-Halbousi met the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran Ali Shamkhani on Wednesday.

Both have discussed the recent security and political developments in the region and the coordination between the two countries in terms of countering terrorism and end extremism.

Al-Halbousi asserted that the victory against terrorism was achieved by the Iraqis supported by the neighbouring countries saying, “This victory must be maintained by providing support in terms of security and reconstruction,”

He also confirmed that Iraq will be part of any assault against any neighbouring countries.

On his part, Shamkhani explained that his country supports Iraq in terms of security, stability and counter-terrorism.

“It is important to broaden the cooperation in the economy as well and the visits that both countries are making play a role in strengthening the mutual relations between the two countries.

He also expressed that Iraq is better than before and united as being away from extremism that used to be inside the country.
