The Border Ports Commission (BPC) announced on Saturday the implementation of a judicial order against a suspect wanted by the judiciary at Umm Qasr Port.
The official spokesperson for the authority, Alaa Al-Din Al-Qaisi, stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "The Umm Qasr Northern Port Directorate was able to arrest a person accused of attempting to smuggle (various medicines, vitamins, engine oils, and other miscellaneous materials). An arrest warrant was issued against him by the Umm Qasr Investigation Court in accordance with the provisions of Article 194 of the Customs Law."
The statement indicated that "the accused was referred and handed over to the requesting party to take the necessary legal action against him."
