BPC detail plan to secure entry of Pilgrims to Iraq

    The Border Ports Commission (BPC) announced, on Friday, the mobilization of all its capabilities to facilitate the entry of Pilgrims to perform the Arbaeen pilgrimage.
     
    The official spokesman for the Border Ports Commission , Alaa Al-Din Al-Qaisi, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The Authority has mobilized all its capabilities to make the Arbaeen pilgrimage plan a success," noting that "based on the directives of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, the Permanent Supreme Committee for the Million-Man Visit was formed, headed by the Director of the Prime Minister's Office, to secure all requirements in the transportation, security, health and services sectors to facilitate the pilgrimage process with ease and convenience befitting the pilgrimage, starting from the border ports and ending with the holy Karbala, while ensuring their safe return," noting that "immediate and future plans have been prepared to establish roads, bridges and railways in the short term to ensure the revival of the Arbaeen pilgrimage rituals."
     
    He pointed out that "the Ports Authority works 24 hours a day to receive Pilgrims to Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), by strengthening its cadres towards the ports covered by the Arbaeen pilgrimage, which are the ports of (Safwan, Shalamcheh, Zurbatiyah, Al-Shaib, Mandali, Al-Mundhiriyah and Al-Qaim), and the airports of (Najaf, Baghdad and Basra)", stressing that "among the efforts are the continuous field visits conducted by the head of the authority to the border ports, which carry a message to all workers in the border ports and departments working to unify all visions to make this pilgrimage a success, and to work in the spirit of one team to register those entering the country without any obstacles for the guests of Iraq and Pilgrims according to the instructions and directives issued". 
     
    He pointed out that "there is high-level cooperation and coordination between the Ports Authority and the governors in the governorates that have border crossings within their governorates, in order to maintain and sustain the infrastructure in order to provide the best services to Pilgrims."
