DMI detains eight on terrorism related charges

The Directorate of Military Intelligence DMI announced on Monday the arrest of eight suspects under Article 4 of the Anti-Terrorism Law in Anbar, Nineveh and Maysan.

"Based on accurate intelligence information from the intelligence divisions (7, 16 and 22), the heroes of the Directorate of Military Intelligence carried out several pre-emptive operations in different areas of Anbar, Nineveh and Maysan governorates," DMI said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

It added that "8 suspects were arrested according to the provisions of Article (4 / Terrorism), including members of ISIS terrorist gangs and others related to tribal conflicts," pointing out that "the suspects were handed over to the relevant authorities after completing the necessary legal procedures against them."
