Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani affirmed on Wednesday that orphans are the responsibility of the state and society, while noting that the government does not want orphans to be a broken model.

The Prime Minister's media office said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani received this evening, Wednesday, the orphans of the Iraqi Creativity House Foundation, managed by Hisham al-Dhahabi, and joined them for an iftar banquet during the holy month of Ramadan."

The Prime Minister praised "the efforts of those in charge of the Iraqi Creativity House Foundation, and the social performance it represents in serving orphans, developing their capabilities, encouraging them to give more, integrate, and working to provide a healthy environment for them."

The Prime Minister explained that "orphans are the responsibility of the state and society, and the government is working to ensure that this segment receives its due status and opportunity, as it is a youth segment upon which hopes are pinned for integration into the ranks of work, creativity, and capacity development." He noted that "we do not want the orphan to be a broken model, but rather to hold his head high and be proud that all the good people in society and all those with generous hands are his family and relatives."
