The First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandlawi, called today, Wednesday, for urgent international action to support the reconstruction of Gaza and Lebanon.
The media office of Al-Mandlawi stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandlawi, received the political advisor at the US Embassy in Iraq, Michel Siders, to discuss the current local and regional situations, in addition to the developments in the scene in Gaza and Lebanon."
According to the statement, Al-Mandlawi stressed "the importance of supporting Iraq in strategic files," noting that "this support contributes to strengthening political and economic stability in the country," noting "the need to strengthen bilateral relations between Iraq and the United States, and expand joint cooperation in various fields to serve the interests of the two countries."
Al-Mandlawi called for "urgent international action to support the efforts to rebuild the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, stressing the importance of accelerating the entry of humanitarian aid to those affected," stressing "the need for all parties to adhere to the terms of the ceasefire agreement, and not to allow violations." He stressed that "Iraq's position is firm in supporting the rights of the Palestinian people to self-determination, and rejecting any violation that threatens the security and sovereignty of the countries of the region."
