Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani confirmed to his Lebanese counterpart Nawaf Salam today, Wednesday, that Iraq will continue to provide support to the Lebanese people, especially in the field of providing fuel.
The Prime Minister's media office said in a statement - received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani received a phone call from Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, during which they discussed strengthening relations between the two countries and following up on the latest developments in the region."
Al-Sudani expressed - according to the statement - "his sincere wishes to his Lebanese counterpart for success in his new duties," stressing, "Iraq's continued support for the Lebanese people, especially in the field of providing fuel, in implementation of the decisions of the Council of Ministers to support Lebanon's steadfastness and enhance its capabilities in facing various challenges."
For his part, Salam stressed his government's keenness to "develop relations with Iraq at various levels and fields, and to confirm joint work to provide security and stability in the region."
