Anbar Criminal Court: Life imprisonment for a drug dealer caught with 2 kg of narcotic drugs

Anbar Criminal Court issued a life sentence against a drug dealer on Sunday for the crime of drug trafficking.

A statement by the Supreme Judicial Council, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "Anbar Criminal Court issued a life sentence against a drug dealer for the crime of drug trafficking."

The statement added that "the convict was found in possession of 2.5 kilograms of heroin hidden inside an iron container on his farm in the city of Rutba."

It pointed out that "the sentence was issued based on the provisions of Article 27 of the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Law No. 50 of 2017."
