Najaf Criminal Court sentences life imprisonment for drug dealer in possession of 4 thousand narcotic tablets

The Najaf Criminal Court issued , on Sunday, life imprisonment sentences to a drug dealer in possession of 4 thousand narcotic tablets.

The Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) "The Najaf Criminal Court issued a life sentence against a drug dealer for the crime of trafficking in narcotic substances" indicating that "the convict was seized in possession of four thousand narcotic tablets of amphetamine narcotic substance with the intention of trafficking and selling among users”.

" The sentence was issued based on the provisions of Article 28/I of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances law No. 50 of 2017" the statement added.
