During the Baghdad Capital of Sports Culture Festival, the Ministry of Youth and Sports chose Paralympic champion Najla Imad as a distinguished model for Iraqi women.
A statement by the Iraqi National Paralympic Committee, followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "Minister of Youth and Sports Ahmed Al-Mubarqa presented a certificate of appreciation to the champion Najla Imad in appreciation of her exceptional sports efforts and the achievements she has made that have raised the name of Iraq high in international forums."
The statement added that "choosing Najla Imad as a model for Iraqi women comes in honor of her inspiring career and highlighting the role of women in the field of sports, especially in sports for people with special needs. This honor constitutes a message of appreciation for every Iraqi woman who contributes to raising the status of her country, whether in the sports field or other fields."
Najla Imad is an example to be followed by Iraqi athletes, as she was able to win the gold medal at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games in the table tennis event, an achievement that reflects her determination and strong will that enabled her to overcome challenges and perform wonderfully at the global level.
