Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil Hayan Abdul-Ghani Al-Sawad confirmed today, Thursday, that this year will witness an increase in oil derivatives production rates.
A statement by the ministry - received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) - stated that "Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil Hayan Abdul-Ghani Al-Sawad, during his chairmanship of the first meeting of the Opinion Board for the year 2025, stressed the ministry's keenness to increase production capacities in the refining sector."
The minister added that "this year will witness an increase in oil derivatives production rates in a number of projects implemented by the ministry, including the FCC project in the Southern Refineries Company, which is an important qualitative project in the refining sector."
He explained that "during the meeting, the topics included in the agenda were reviewed and decisions and directives were taken that serve the development of the gas, refining, extraction and distribution sectors."
The statement continued, "The meeting was attended by members of the Opinion Authority, agents, consultants, and general managers of companies and departments in the oil sector."
