SMC: Three Terrorists, Including Key leader, Neutralized in Anbar Desert

The Security Media Cell (SMC) confirmed on Wednesday the neutralization of three terrorists, including a key criminal, in the Anbar Desert.

In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the SMC reported that “following a week of intense field surveillance and under the command of the Joint Operations Command and the Ground Forces Command, a precision strike was carried out at dawn today. A joint force, consisting of the 18th Brigade of the 5th Division of the Iraqi Army and Anbar’s Popular Mobilization Forces successfully neutralized three terrorists, including a prominent criminal whose identity will be confirmed through technical ways.”

The statement further noted that “two vehicles belonging to the terrorists were destroyed during the operation, executed deep in the Anbar Desert.”
It also confirmed that “the neutralized terrorists had been engaged in extorting and collecting money from local shepherds under false pretenses.”
