Philip: Arab art is beautiful, has a special character, and a large audience

The Portuguese artist Margarita Philip welcomed the invitation to Iraq to attend the Baghdad International Theater Festival in its fifth session.

"This participation is my second in the Baghdad International Theater Festival in its fifth session. Last year, I presented the play (Romeo and Juliet), I was the heroine (Juliet) and I saw how the audience interacted with the play, but now my role in the play (Hamlet) is Ophelia in the modern era who reads the novel," said Philip to the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

She added, "Arab art is beautiful and has a special character and a large audience, it is a good listener and viewer and an observer and critic of the works presented during the shows," noting that she is "happy to be in Baghdad, it is a beautiful city and one of the cities that I love to visit for its great history of art, civilization and history."
