The Parliament confirmed on Friday its support for conducting the general population census, deciding to resume sessions next week.
"The Parliament affirms its full support for conducting the general population and housing census 2024, urging MPs to direct and encourage citizens in their areas to cooperate with the field teams of the Federal Ministry of Planning to accomplish their tasks to make the census operations that will be conducted on the 20th and 21st of this month a success," according to a statement by the Parliament Speaker Office - received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
The statement added that "due to the presence of representatives in their governorates and the importance of the census, it was decided to resume sessions next week after the completion of the population census operations in the country."
