The Mayor of Baghdad, Ammar Musa, discussed on Saturday solutions to the housing crisis and development of services at the World Urban Forum held in Cairo, stressing the adoption of the comprehensive development plan to provide radical solutions to the housing crisis.
"The Baghdad Municipality is participating with an Iraqi delegation that included the Ministries of Planning and Construction and Housing in the 12th session of the World Urban Forum held in Cairo," said the Mayor of Baghdad - during his participation in the 12th session of the World Urban Forum held in Cairo - attended by the reporter of the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
Musa explained that "the Iraqi participation in this global forum is of great importance, as the challenges facing the city of Baghdad were presented, especially in light of the large population increase, and how to accommodate it through our plans by adopting the comprehensive development plan for the city, which aims to provide radical solutions to the housing crisis in the capital, in addition to facing the challenges suffered by the service sector."
He pointed out that "there are several meetings with the participating delegations; to exchange experiences and benefit from them to develop the capital, Baghdad."
The Mayor called on the international community to pay attention to participating in reconstruction projects in Iraq in light of the reconstruction, development and expansion campaign witnessed by the cities, in addition to the strategic projects carried out by the Baghdad Municipality, expressing his hope that “the various meetings within the forum will contribute to strengthening development work within the capital, Baghdad.”
