President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid emphasized on Saturday the necessity of enhancing communication mechanisms with the Presidency of the Parliament.
The Media Office of the Presidency stated in a release received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid met with the Speaker of the Parliament, Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani, at the Parliament HQ in Baghdad."
The statement added that "the President congratulated Al-Mashhadani on his election as Speaker of the Parliament, wishing him success in fulfilling his duties."
According to the statement, the President underscored "the importance of strengthening communication and coordination between the Presidency and the Parliament, and working to present laws and legislations that serve the interests of citizens, particularly in the areas of security, politics, and the economy."
The statement also noted that "Al-Mashhadani expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the President's congratulations and well wishes," affirming"the parliament commitment to advancing its responsibilities in a manner that upholds the supreme interests of Iraq and its people."
