The Board of Trustees of the Iraqi Media Network condemned, on Friday, the Zionist entity's targeting of the journalists' residence in southern Lebanon.

The Council stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Board of Trustees of the Iraqi Media Network expresses its strong condemnation of the deliberate Zionist aggression that targeted the residence of journalists in the Hasbaya area in southern Lebanon, which resulted in the martyrdom and injury of a number of journalists while performing their professional duty," stressing that "this heinous attack is added to the ongoing criminal terrorist record of the Zionist entity against journalists and media outlets in Palestine and Lebanon, and is a flagrant violation of international laws and norms that guarantee the safety of journalists and their right to practice their work freely and safely."

The Board of Trustees called on media and trade union associations and bodies around the world to "condemn this criminal act and take a firm stance to criminalize the Zionist enemy in international forums," stressing that "holding the aggressors accountable and ensuring the protection of journalists in conflict zones is a responsibility that falls on the international community, which must move urgently to hold the perpetrators of these crimes accountable and provide the necessary protection for journalists."

The Board of Trustees affirmed its confidence that "this crime will not deter free and professional media from continuing to cover the Zionist aggression and convey the image of the steadfastness of the Lebanese and Palestinian peoples and the heroism of the resistance fighters in defending their lands and villages."

The statement concluded that "the Board of Trustees of the Iraqi Media Network extends its deepest condolences to Al-Manar and Al-Mayadeen channels and the families of the martyred journalists, and to grant the wounded from other media institutions a speedy recovery," calling on God to protect all media professionals and help them carry out their noble mission.
