The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani announced on Tuesday, the killing of ISIS's so-called "Wali of Iraq" during an exceptional operation.
In a post on X, followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Al-Sudani stated,"I congratulate the great Iraqi people on the killing of ISIS's so-called "Wali of Iraq" and eight senior leaders in a heroic operation by the Counter-Terrorism Service and National Security Service. This exceptional mission, supervised by the Joint Operations Command, successfully targeted terrorist hideouts in the Hamrin Mountains".
He also added,"We commend the effort of the heroes of all our security forces and reaffirm that there is no place for terrorists in Iraq. We will pursue them to their hideouts and eliminate them until Iraq is cleansed of them and their heinous acts".
