Iraqi F-16s carry out an airstrike in Salahuddin

    The Joint Operations Command announced, today, Friday, that Iraqi F-16 aircraft carried out an air strike in the Balkana Mountains in Salah al-Din, while confirming that the strike killed a terrorist detachment consisting of 4 elements.

    A statement by the command - received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) - said: "The painful strikes continue to break the back of terrorism and get rid of its defeated elements, through intensive technical follow-up for four days, accurate information, and continuous and distinguished field efforts by the brave men of the Military Intelligence Directorate and its depth in all areas of responsibility, which resulted in identifying the locations and movements of a terrorist detachment consisting of (4) elements inside a guest house in "Balkana" within the eastern Salah al-Din sector.".

    The statement added, "After intercepting and analyzing the information, and intensifying the technical effort by the targeting cell in the Joint Operations Command, the brave air hawks - by F_16 aircraft at 1750 hours today - carried out a precise and successful air strike that turned the guest house into rubble over the heads of the terrorists and killed them."

    The statement continued, "Based on accurate information, this guest house also contains weapons, ammunition, and explosive materials, in addition to various logistical and technical materials."
