National Security Adviser Qasim Al-Araji confirmed today, Wednesday, that the government is working on the largest community integration process for those who came from Al-Hol camp.

The National Security Advisory stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "we held a conference to evaluate and update the Iraqi strategy to combat terrorism for the years (2012-2025), in coordination with the Counter-Terrorism Service and cooperation with the European Union Mission in Iraq."

It added that "Al-Araji opened the conference with a speech during which he congratulated the Counter-Terrorism Service, its head, the National Security personnel and the joint operations, on the recent qualitative operation that killed the so-called governor of Iraq and a group of terrorists. He also thanked the European Union Mission and the European Union Ambassador to Iraq for their efforts in supporting the Iraqi security forces as well as all military leaders."

Al-Araji stressed - according to the statement - that "Iraq is free of terrorism today and we are working to sustain security and ensure its success. We must work according to the principle of citizenship, away from nationalism and sectarianism, because Iraq unites everyone and we must leave the feeling of marginalization and work according to the law and not escape punishment, and the citizen must trust the state and its judicial institutions."

He pointed out that "there are no first- or second-class Iraqis, etc., as all Iraqis are equal, and the government is strong and state institutions are strong and work to enhance societal cohesion."

Al-Araji explained that "the government is working on the largest societal integration process for those who came from Al-Hol camp, where they were subjected to psychological rehabilitation in Al-Jadaa camp under the supervision of the Ministry of Migration and Displacement and all other agencies. More than 2,000 families have been returned to their original areas so far, and 600 families remain to be rehabilitated, in preparation for their return and giving them a chance at life again."

He stressed "the importance of monitoring social media sites that spread division and poison among Iraqis and not allowing any party or entity to divide Iraqi society, as security was achieved by the pure blood of Iraqis and must be preserved.

" The advisory indicated that "the conference discussed - within its agenda - the measures taken by the team formed to implement the strategy, in addition to the challenges and obstacles that accompanied its implementation, and the solutions that must be taken to accelerate the implementation of the strategy, in implementation of the government program, in addition to presenting a vision on developing the strategy for the coming years."
