The spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasool, confirmed today, Tuesday, that the elimination of the Wali of Iraq serves as a powerful message to terrorism, indicating that this action will significantly impact terrorist groups.
Rasool stated to the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The heroic operation targeting top ISIS leaders, including the so-called Wali of Iraq and eight senior figures, was conducted with ongoing oversight from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani. His directives emphasized the need to continue dismantling these terrorist elements wherever they may be. This operation was made possible by the outstanding efforts of the Counter-Terrorism Service and the National Security Service over several months, characterized by precise intelligence gathering and high-level coordination between both agencies, along with exceptional leadership from joint operations."
He added, "This operation sends a strong message to terrorism," noting that "Iraqi security services and armed forces will persist in targeting and investigating any remnants of terrorist groups within Iraqi territory; no area will be safe for these terrorists."
Rasool emphasized that "the operation will have a profound impact on these terrorist factions, leading to a loss of leadership and control, which will ultimately diminish their morale."
He assured that "security forces will continue their pursuit of terrorist groups, facing them with relentless intelligence and military actions, supported by the Iraqi Air Force, which played a critical role in this operation."
