the spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasool, confirmed today, Tuesday, that the killing of the governor of Iraq is a strong message to terrorism, indicating that this will greatly affect the terrorist gangs.

Rasoul told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The heroic operation to target the first-tier leaders of ISIS gangs, including the so-called (Wali of Iraq) and 8 senior leaders, was carried out with continuous follow-up from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, and his directives to continue crushing the rotten heads and pursuing them wherever they are, while there was a great and distinguished effort by the heroes of the Counter-Terrorism Service and the National Security Service over months with precise follow-up according to intensive intelligence efforts and high coordination that took place between the two security and intelligence services and a distinguished effort by the leadership of joint operations through coordination, supervision and distribution of roles."

He added, "This operation is a strong message to terrorism," noting that "the Iraqi security services and armed forces continue to target and investigate what remains of the terrorist gangs inside Iraqi territory, and any place inside Iraqi territory will not be safe for these terrorist gangs."

He stressed that "the operation will have a very big impact on the terrorist gangs, as it will lead to their loss of leadership and control and will have an impact on their loss of morale," noting that "the security forces are continuing to pursue the terrorist gangs and will be under the blows of the intelligence and military services and the Iraqi Air Force, which also participated in this operation."
