The Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) confirmed on Friday, that the voting machines are working well and without interruption, while indicating that there is no extension of the voting time in the special vote for the regional parliament elections.
The official spokesman for the Central Committee for the Kurdistan Parliament Elections, Eser Yassin, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "the devices have been working well since the beginning of voting at seven in the morning until now, and they are working well and without stopping."
He added that "the surveillance cameras placed in all polling stations are working well," noting that "if one of them stops; it is repaired or replaced if the situation requires it."
He pointed out that "the commission has 50% of the reserve devices and the devices can be replaced at the same moment if any device malfunctions," stressing that "there is no extension in the voting time because the device works electronically and is programmed for this time in the Kurdistan Parliament elections.”
