The Ministry of Health announced on Sunday the statistics for fatalities and infections caused by hemorrhagic fever and cholera.
Ministry spokesperson Saif Al-Badr told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The total number of hemorrhagic fever cases this year has reached 211, including 26 deaths and 185 infections.”
The breakdown of infections and fatalities by province is as follows:
Dhi Qar: 40 infections, 6 deaths
Nineveh: 26 infections, 7 deaths
Basra: 18 infections
Baghdad/Rusafa: 17 infections, 4 deaths
Wasit: 14 infections, 1 death
Babel: 9 infections, 1 death
Baghdad/Karkh: 8 infections
Maysan: 8 infections, 2 deaths
Diyala: 7 infections, 1 death
Erbil: 7 infections
Muthanna: 6 infections
Duhok: 5 infections, 1 death
Kirkuk: 4 infections, 1 death
Najaf: 4 infections
Diwaniyah: 4 infections, 2 deaths
Karbala: 3 infections
Sulaymaniyah: 3 infections
Salah al-Din: 2 infections
Anbar: No reported cases
The total number of hemorrhagic fever infections stands at 185, with 26 fatalities.
Regarding cholera, Al-Badr noted that the total number of cases has surpassed 400, with 119 reported in Sulaymaniyah, 109 in Kirkuk, and 107 in Diyala.
He confirmed that no deaths have been recorded due to cholera.
