Ministry of Health announced the 3.837 new cases of COVID-19 and 3.454 other cases were recovered.
A ministry statement received by Iraqi News Agency (INA) included that "20.359 have been tested in all specialized laboratories in Iraq for this day, and thus the total number since the beginning of the disease in Iraq reached 1.502.546"
The statement included the following updates for August, 26th 2020:
The new cases for today amounted to 3.837 cases, and as follows: Baghdad Rusafa 442, Baghdad Al-Karkh 225, Medical City 148, Najaf 110, Sulaymaniyah 109, Erbil 264, Dohuk 90, Karbala 335, Kirkuk 191, Diyala 91, Wasit 229, Basra 320, Maysan 96, Babil 163, Diwaniyah 192, Dhi Qar 270, Anbar 85, Muthanna 278, Nineveh 150 and Salah al-Din 49.
The cases of recovery amounted to 3.454 distributed as follows: Baghdad, Rusafa 383, Baghdad Karkh 210, City of Medicine 80, Najaf al-Ashraf 289, Sulaymaniyah 69, Erbil 280, Karbala 292, Kirkuk 257, Diyala 154, Wasit 208, Basra 262, Maysan 167. Babel 222, Diwaniyah 115, Dhi Qar 210, Anbar 63, Muthanna 94, Nineveh 50, Salah al-Din 49.
The new death cases amounted to 72 cases, as follows: Baghdad, Rusafa 6, Baghdad Al-Karkh 4, Medical City 1, Sulaymaniyah 6, Erbil 8, Karbala 9, Kirkuk 3, Diyala 2, Wasit 2, Basra 8, Babel 4, Diwaniyah 5 Dhi Qar 1, Anbar 1, Muthanna 4, Nineveh 6, Salah al-Din 2.
The Statement also included that the epidemiological situation of Coronavirus has become as follows:
Total recoveries: 157.215 the cure rate is 72.9%
Total cases: 215.784
Total cases under treatment: 51.901
Those in intensive care: 595
Total number of deaths: 6.668
