Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani directed, today, Thursday, to continue relief operations to Gaza and Lebanon.
The Prime Minister's Media Office stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani chaired a meeting that included the Crisis and Disaster Management Team and the Relief Committee for the Palestinian and Lebanese Peoples, in the presence of the Ministers of Interior, Health, Trade, Electricity, the General Coordinator of the Governorates, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Migration, the Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, and the President of the Iraqi Red Crescent Society.".
He added, "During the meeting, the efforts made by the committee, which was formed in the wake of the ongoing aggression on Gaza since last October, were reviewed, and the committee's work expanded with the start of the aggression on brotherly Lebanon.
The implementation of relief plans was also discussed in light of the Cabinet decisions issued two days ago, in response to the directives of the supreme religious authority, the Prime Minister's confirmations, and in implementation of the desire of the people to provide relief to the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples in their difficult circumstances.".
He continued, "The meeting discussed the resources available to sustain relief, as the Prime Minister directed that aid be organized in a way that enables Iraq to provide relief to the displaced, and deliver aid to those affected, whether inside Lebanon or in Palestine, or what must be provided to Lebanese families who have come to Iraq, and with all possible forms of assistance, in addition to discussing the operations of transporting aid and the best ways to deliver it to its destination."
